Chaney Instrument will be introducing several professional grade food thermometers at the
Gourmet Products Show here. Each of the thermometers carries the National Sanitation Foundation
(NSF) designation and are said to offer faster response times, broader temperature ranges and
are more water-resistant than other products designed for the consumer market.
The combination oven/meat thermometer has a conventional analog face but shows both meat
and oven temperatures on one face. The long-handled meat probe was designed to check the
temperature of burgers and thinly sliced meats on the grill. The waterproof digital thermometer
can be totally submersed in water for cleaning and is said to offer quick response times.
Serving spoons with built-in temperature sensors monitor the serving temperatures to ensure
they are safe. There are a variety of spoon configurations and sizes.
Additionally, Chaney will showcase its Acu-Rite Programmable Digital Meat Thermometer for the
barbecue grill. The thermometer was designed to withstand extreme temperatures on the grill.
The probe is inserted into the meat, the barbecue lid is closed and the monitor remains
outside so that heat is not lost by repeatedly opening the lid. The cord of the probe is
heat-resistant up to 700 degrees. When meat is done the thermometer alerts the cook.
It also serves as a timer.
