Innovative Thermometers Ensure Food Safety and Successful Cooking

 

Lake Geneva, WI—Chaney Instrument Co. introduces six new thermometers to its Acu-Rite line, incorporating innovative features designed to ensure food safety and successful cooking.  The products include: two patented Acu-Rite® Sure Grip® barbeque tools, a waterproof instant-read digital thermometer, an easy-to-calibrate instant-read thermometer, and two serving spoons.

Chaney will showcase these new thermometers in booth #232 at the Gourmet Show in San Francisco April 21 to 23.


Waterproof Digital Thermometer

The new Acu-Rite™ waterproof instant-read digital thermometer is an elegant step up from ordinary pocket thermometers. It has sleek styling, is versatile, easy to use, and convenient to carry. 

Shaped much like a pen and measuring only 6-1/2” long, the Acu-Rite waterproof digital thermometer has a high-quality soft-touch Sure Grip® handle and a straight probe that includes a protective sheath, which fits securely onto the thermometer so you don’t lose it. The thermometer provides temperature readings from -40 to 392° Fahrenheit. It is also equipped with a “hold” button that will maintain the temperature display until you turn the thermometer off, enabling the professional chef to record temperature readings without having to remember it on the way back to your desk. Also included are Fahrenheit/Celsius and on/off switches.

Safety, Convenience, and Fun at the Barbeque Grill

The Acu-Rite® SureGrip™ Burger Probe and the SureGrip Fork are easy-to-use digital barbeque tools that help the grilling chef achieve safe and successful results.

According to the USDA, ground beef presents the highest risk of foodborne illnesses caused by e-coli bacteria. (See Food Safety Facts attached for more food safety information.) So, it is extremely important that ground beef be properly cooked. The new Acu-Rite digital burger probe from Chaney Instrument is designed specifically to ensure that proper readings are achieved for safe cooking of burger patties.  The first of its kind, the Burger Probe features a bent tip with 3/8” insertion guide designed to take temperatures from the center of a burger patty and long stems with large easy-to-grip, non-slip handles so that you don’t burn your hand at the grill.

Both the burger probe and the fork provide exact temperature readings on large, easy-to-read LCD panels, on/off and Celsius/Fahrenheit switches.  USDA recommended cooking temperatures are printed right on the handles.

Acu-Rite Combination Oven/Meat Thermometer

The Acu-Rite Combination Oven/Meat thermometer is perfect for those who prefer a traditional dial face, yet want convenience and precise temperature readings.

The Acu-Rite® combination oven/meat thermometer is super easy to read and gives you both ambient temperature of the oven and the internal temperature of a roast on a single face. It is NSF certified for accuracy and reliability, is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, and has clearly marked color zones for ease of reading. The thermometer has a 4-1/2” stem and 2-1/2” diameter dial.

Instant-Read Dial Thermometers Designed for Easy Calibration

Eliminate the “Is this thermometer right?” question from your cooking vocabulary with these easy-to-calibrate instant-read thermometers. The 1-3/4” diameter and 1” diameter Acu-Rite® Instant-read Meat Thermometers can be tested and calibrated with a specially designed calibration nut that allows for adjustment by hand…no tools required. These thermometers are also NSF certified for accuracy and reliability.

Spoon Thermometers Ensure Food Safety at Picnics and Buffets

Acu-Rite® Sure-Grip™ spoons with digital readouts assure safety at buffets, potlucks, and restaurants—wherever food needs to be kept at a consistent hot or cold temperature. The Sure Grip serving spoon and ladle are stainless steel and have large, easy-to-read digital displays. They are NSF certified and feature the soft, ergonomic Sure Grip handle. (Note: the “danger zone” for foods is between 40 and 140°F. Cold foods need to be kept at 40° or lower and hot foods at 140° or higher. See Food Safety Facts attached for more information.)
