Iron Chefs Need Professional Tools
Lake Geneva, WI - Chaney Instrument Co. will
introduce the Chaney Instrument brand of professional grade thermometers for the consumer market at the
Gourmet Show to be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA, May 3-6, booth #637-639.
One might argue that that the Food Channel is becoming one of the
more popular "extreme sports" channels. With shows like the Iron Chef, the Naked Chef, Mario Eats Italy, Emeril Live, and
Hot Off the Grill with Bobby Flay, looking and cooking like a professional chef is another evolution in extreme recreation
bringing a new generation of enthusiasts to the Gourmet world.
To that end, Chaney Instrument Co. is now offering professional grade
thermometers designed to meet the higher-performance standards of professional cooking environments to consumer retail stores.
These thermometers carry the NSF, or National Sanitation Foundation, designation indicating that the product meets or exceeds
NSF performance standards. They generally have faster response times, broader temperature ranges, and are more water-resistant
than products designed for the consumer market.
The products offered range from conventional to highly innovative. For the
traditional information hog, the combination oven/meat thermometer has a conventional analog face, but shows both meat and
oven temperatures on one face so you can monitor all your relevant cooking temperatures at once.
Professional grilling tools include Chaney Instrument's exclusive long-handled
meat probe designed to check the temperature of burgers and other thin cuts of meat at the grill. Engineered for ease of use,
these grill thermometers can be operated with one hand leaving the other hand free for other tasks. Another innovation from
Chaney is the waterproof digital thermometer which features very fast response times and can be totally submersed in water for cleaning.
Chaney Instrument is the only brand to offer serving spoons with built-in
temperature sensors to monitor the safe serving temperatures. Spoons come in a variety of configurations including ladles
in a variety of sizes.
The line features packaging designed with a blue and brushed aluminum
professional kitchen look.
