Revolutionary "Set & Forget" Puts End to Setting & Resetting of Digital Alarms
New technology triumphs over power outages and time changes
Lake Geneva, Wis.- Three digital alarms in the Acu-Rite brand
will showcase Chaney Instrument Co.'s new Set & Forget technology at the 2003 National Hardware Show in Chicago, in
booth no. 20503, from August 10-12.
Set & Forget is a patent-pending innovation available exclusively
from Chaney Instrument Co. It enables digital alarm clocks equipped with Set & Forget microchips to display the correct
time from the moment the user plugs them in or installs their batteries. They maintain the right time even after power
outages, ending the aggravation of seeing "12:00 a.m." flashing in the display. This same hassle is a thing of the past
during the switch to and from Daylight Savings Timeclocks with Set & Forget spring forward and fall back all by themselves.
The three digital alarm clocks with Set & Forget include the Vantage,
a battery-operated LCD model, and the Challenger, which has a red LED and is available in black or white. Suggested
retail prices are $14.99 for the Vantage and $10.99 for the Challenger. A number of analog clocks in the Chaney product
line also feature the technology, which is identifiable to consumers via a forward/back icon on their dials.
Chaney Instrument Co. is an international maker of
clocks and thermometers celebrating its 60th year in 2003. Its brands include Acu-Rite, Atomix, Chaney Instrument,
