"Smart" Clocks Keep Pace With Changing Times
Chaney achieves another major innovation with "Set & Forget" technology
Lake Geneva, Wis.- Don't miss your chance to see Chaney
Instrument Co.'s patent-pending Set & Forget technology at the 2003 National Hardware Show, booth no. 20503, from August 10-12
in Chicago. This unprecedented innovation enables clocks to automatically spring forward and fall back when the Daylight Savings
Time change occurs twice a year.
Each quartz clock motor with the Set & Forget technology has a microchip
pre-programmed with a calendar that tells the clock the exact day and time on which to change. These clocks are simple to
set up: the user puts in the batteries and sets the hands as with any other quartz clock. There are no signals
or antennas required.
"Chaney developed Set & Forget in response to consumer feedback that
updating all the clocks in their houses and offices was a hassle they would rather do without," says Chaney General Manager
Pat Devlin. "Set & Forget will make life easier twice a year."
Chaney launched Set & Forget in January with three analog quartz models
in the Acu-Rite line (the Stafford, which retails at $28.99; the Claxton, at $32.99; and the Braden, at $12.99) and three digital
alarms. Consumers can identify clocks with the Set & Forget innovation by the forward/back icon printed on the dial.
Set & Forget is the newest evolution in clock technology since the
invention of the superaccurate Atomix radio-control clock, which Chaney also brought to market. Set & Forget is available
only on Chaney Instrument Co. brands.
